We’ve had a streak of poorlycustomized Z-Cars recently, but here’s a radically modified one that still turns out to be pretty durned cool. Anyone that liked the original Transformers remembers Prowl, Autobot Military Strategist, Optimus Prime’s second-in-command, and all-around badass. His alternate form was not only a Datsun Fairlady Z, but a hard-core highway patrol version in a Japanese police paint scheme.
Over the years as the Transformers line was hashed and rehashed, Prowl has been remade into many forms, including a Lamborghini Diablo, Acura RSX, Acura NSX and a lion, but die-hard fans will always remember him as a Nissan. If that’s you, then good news, because Hasbro has just released yet another line of toys called Transformers Universe and lo and behold, Prowl has taken on the guise of the Datsun 280ZX’s successor, a Nissan 350Z. Isn’t this is what last year’s Transformers Movie should’ve been instead of a two hour GM commercial? Now let’s see Ironhide as a, um, Nissan Quest.
