Nicely done right hand drive ‘34 convertible coupe.

One of my great friends from Australia, Rhonda Martinez, who is full bore into American-built motorcycles and street rods sent me some great pictures from two street rod events from down under earlier this week. They look like your typical car show resto-rods and radical one-off street rods, however, many of them are right hand drive which only makes them even more interesting to me. Some of these photos were from the Castlemaine Celebration Ford Hot Rod Show in late September. I’ll post some other photos from the Custom Hot Rod Show on October 4 in Newstead in a later post. For those of you who restore early street rods, you probably have come across Castlemaine before, Australia’s headquarters for the street rod hobby and the home of Castlemaine Rod Shop, a major parts supplier to Oz enthusiasts and some folks in the U.S. as well.

another shot of the black '34 coupe. I think a RHD rod at an American show would be a huge hit. '34 2-door Deluxe Roadster convertible with miniscule fenders. '56 F-100 tastefully done sans emblems and moldings. Boar (center left) and a mate mug up next to a pair of chopped coupes. another unique grille treatment on the left, flames to the right. Beautiful RHD '34 coupe, note the race car-themed rod in the background. Although a Ford Show, no one could turn away this '42 Willys Coupe which seems to fit right in nicely. unique nose on this chopped '34, note the Buick 12" aluminum drums on the front end.
