At first glance, I thought this '56 Pontiac Chieftan had the most gorgeously subtle metal-flake treatment I'd ever seen—it doesn't really show up too well here, but you can kind of see the dusting of glitter in this pic of the hood. But then, I noticed that the flake was also all over the windshield. The car's owner explained: on the way to the show, he was driving directly behind another SEMA car when it blew its transmission. So that sprinkling of pixie dust you see is actually the remains of that other car's lunched tranny. I say, spray on a couple coats of clear and call it good—the metallic effect turned out as though he'd done it on purpose!
