Series 2 R35 GT-R Coming In 2009, Launch Control To Get The Boot

Japanese Performance Car News, Sonntag, 23 November 2008 in Partner- und Mitglieder-Blogs, jpcnews.blogspot.com

The R35 GT-R is barely a year old, but it seems that Nissan is already preparing to roll out an updated Series 2 model to address a range of mechanical and cosmetic issues. Power will be up by 3.7kW to 357kW and fuel tank capacity will also be increased from 71L to 73.8L. Fuel economy will improve slightly to 11.76L/100km, Euro-spec suspension settings will be applied to the JDM models and brake hose stiffness will be increased, but the most attention-grabbing change is that Nissan have...

Honda Lifts Lid On FC Sport Concept At LA

Japanese Performance Car News, Freitag, 21 November 2008 in Partner- und Mitglieder-Blogs, jpcnews.blogspot.com

Honda has just unveiled their latest sports car concept at the LA Auto Show, the hydrogen-powered FC Sport. Built around the hydrogen fuel cell technology that's already debuted in Honda's FCX Clarity, the FC Sport is designed with supercar-level performance in mind. Pity about the looks, though. Without a doubt, the FC Sport is one of Honda's most ungainly concepts, and appears to be constructed entirely out of flat sheets of glass and plastic. The rear of the car and its weird...

New NSX Gets Nekkid?

Japanese Performance Car News, Freitag, 21 November 2008 in Partner- und Mitglieder-Blogs, jpcnews.blogspot.com

British mag Auto Express has come to the fore with what appears to be the first peek beneath the upcoming successor to the legendary NA2 NSX. AE's cutaway appears to be very similar to an allegedly genuine rendering that they published months ago, so this may very well be the real deal. There's not much to see other than a very Corvette-like intake plumbing arrangement for the NSX's 600hp naturally-aspirated V10 and an interior that appears to be just as cramped as that of an S2000. Like...

Engine Go Boom: Haltech Find Limit Of VR38DETT's Stock Internals

Japanese Performance Car News, Donnerstag, 20 November 2008 in Partner- und Mitglieder-Blogs, jpcnews.blogspot.com

It was only a matter of time before it happened, but it seems that an Australian workshop has managed to take the engine of their R35 GT-R right to the raggedy edge - and beyond. Yep, somebody's managed to destroy Godzilla's plasma-lined heart in the pursuit of ultimate power. The car, which was being used by ECU firm Haltech to conduct some fairly exhaustive R&D, suffered a catastrophic engine failure at Eastern Creek Raceway near Sydney at the end of last month, and it's only now that a...

370Z Full Details Revealed!

Japanese Performance Car News, Donnerstag, 20 November 2008 in Partner- und Mitglieder-Blogs, jpcnews.blogspot.com

The embargo is over, the veil has been lifted and we can finally give you the low-down on the all-new Z34 370Z. Nissan debuted the 370Z to much fanfare at the LA Auto Show today, and with it they've also released the first batch of stats n' specs of the new Z-car. Some details we already know, like how the VVEL-equipped 3.7-litre VQ37VHR V6 that powers it delivers some 246kW, and that the new 6-speed manual gearbox features a rev-synching function for downshifts (known as SynchroRev Match in...

Mitsubishi Aus Releases Evolution X TMR SST Club-Spec

Japanese Performance Car News, Mittwoch, 19 November 2008 in Partner- und Mitglieder-Blogs, jpcnews.blogspot.com

While Japan tends to hog all the wacky, ultra-desirable special edition performance cars (take the MX-5 Coupe or the the Legacy STI S402, for example), occasionally a non-JDM car will pop up that offers something that Japanese dealers don't. Mitsubishi UK have long done it with their FQ series of Lancer Evos and now Mitsubishi Australia has gotten in on the game with its own locally-fettled product: the Evolution X TMR SST Club-Spec. With a name that long, the Aussie-tuned Evo could well...

2009 Nissan 370Z: Now On Video

Japanese Performance Car News, Sonntag, 16 November 2008 in Partner- und Mitglieder-Blogs, jpcnews.blogspot.com

A little over a week ago we mentioned that the dudes and dudettes at Inside Line were hosting their own little shindig for the 370Z on November 15. That date has come and gone and although we weren't there to check it out (we hope at least some of you were), the crew from Streetfire.net not only managed to rock up and shoot some pics, but they also scored some video of the Z34 370Z's first major public outing. Unfortunately Streetfire.net elected to dub The Crystal Method's Born Too...

Z34 370Z Engine Bay Revealed, More Details Uncovered

Japanese Performance Car News, Freitag, 14 November 2008 in Partner- und Mitglieder-Blogs, jpcnews.blogspot.com

It's getting so close we can taste it... and it tastes good. The number of days left until the Nissan 370Z officially debuts can be counted on one hand and the number of pics of 370Zs out in the wild continues to grow. Today it's GTR-World.net and Import Tuner's turn to show off their photographic skills, and they haven't disappointed with both managing to snap some very telling images of the Z34. First up, GTR-World has captured two hitherto unseen parts of the 370Z's body - the boot...

GT-R Spec-V Release Date And Price "Confirmed"

Japanese Performance Car News, Freitag, 14 November 2008 in Partner- und Mitglieder-Blogs, jpcnews.blogspot.com

It seems that rumours of a January 2009 release and a ¥15m pricetag for the upcoming GT-R Spec-V may have some credence after all, as news from Japan suggests that the R35-based giant-slayer will be released to the Japanese public in the first month of next year, with deliveries to begin in February. If you want one you'd better be prepared for a long wait. The initial production run will apparently be limited to just 10 Spec-Vs per month, however that should rise as the order books open in...

Now THAT'S A Bodykit: Wald Gets Set To Reshape The IS-F

Japanese Performance Car News, Freitag, 14 November 2008 in Partner- und Mitglieder-Blogs, jpcnews.blogspot.com

VIP specialists Wald is in the midst of preparing a complete replacement bodykit for Lexus's potent IS-F. Called the Sports Line Black Bison Edition, Wald's IS-F kit lends the V8-powered luxo-sedan a more hardened image and also borrows a few styling cues from the company's upcoming R35 GT-R bodykit. As you can see from these computer renderings the front bumper will feature more aggressive venting and a catseye-scraping lower lip, while the rear receives a Ferrari 599-style diffuser and...
