‘bin neulich einer am Straßenrand im Berliner Stadtteil Prenzlauer Berg geparkten Aprilia Motó 6.5 begegnet. Wow. Das ist schon ‘ne super lange Ewigkeit (doppelt gemoppelt ausgedrückt!!??) her, daß ich dieses Bike irgendwo zuletzt gesehen hatte…
Der konzeptionelle Ansatz des Designs von Philippe Starck ist eigentlich eine nicht so einfach einzuordnende Mischung aus Naked-Bike, Enduro, Super-Moto und Design-Objekt.
“Das ist ein Motorrad, das so schlecht in irgendeine Schublade paßt. Die Motó paßt nicht so recht in die Vorstellungswelt vieler Käufer, die mit dem Erwerb den Eintritt in die Welt der Outlaws, harten Männer und Freiheit der Landstraße verbinden. Design ist eben das Gegenteil von Machismo.” (www.moto65.de)
Starck soll über sein Motorrad folgendes gesagt haben (war wohl um 1994 ):
“In six years, the Third Millennium will be upon us. Maybe this is the ideal time to take stock and understand that perceptions - rather than realities - surround us.
Take the motorbike. It’s been turned into a fashion victim, voided of all its sense, robbed of its “raison d’être”. False myths and real caricatures are all that remain. Except for a few rare exceptions, the motorbike has lost its soul. The time has come to seek out this soul and reinvent it. The very essence of the bike itself. The best of what it used to be. The best of what it could be: unique, definitive, eternal. Minimum materials. Maximum spirit. This motorbike exists: the MOTÓ 6.5.” (www.moto65.de)
