Old cars have been in the newspapers quite a bit lately, from the 50th anniversary of Edsel to the last International Harvester dealer. Reader Julie Anne tipped us off to this story from last week about Paul O’Brien, a Hollywood type who’s planning a road trip in his 1935 Ford Tudor sedan from California to Grand Mound, Iowa, where his family hailed from before they picked up roots and moved to the West Coast. Sure, road trips in old cars ain’t that uncommon, but most folks usually trip from farm country to California, not the other way around. Apparently, O’Brien’s used to road trips - he once traveled north 1,200 miles to Oregon to visit his mother on a Vespa. Though he should probably consult with the Sullivans - they seemed not to have much trouble on their road trip, and they took Model As.
