The North Carolina DMV was shocked to discover what "WTF" means after being tipped off by an elderly lady whose snickering grandchildren filled her in on the meaning of the offending acronym on her license plate. In response, the Department sent a letter to the state's estimated 10,000 "WTF" plate holders, promising them a replacement plate if desired. If I had a WTF, I'd kinda want to hang onto it.
