Students at University of South Australia are pretty stoked about their new design project: say hello to TREV, the Two-seat Renewable Energy Vehicle. It's powered by a lithium-ion battery, has a top speed of 75 mph and can go 90 miles between charges. The cockpit-style two-seater format struck me as a little impractical, but the TREV website makes the point that 90% of urban vehicle trips include only one to two occupants. With solar recharging capacity, the students are hoping to make this a truly zero-emissions vehicle.  Now if only they could make it with four wheels!
