V12 From Two LSx Engines Update

Published in engineswapdepot.com

We covered a very talented and creative engine builder taking two LSx engines and welding them together into one 8.9 L V12 back in 2013. For a while it seemed the project might have died given the lack of updates but we are very excited to say the builder is back with his progress.

The builder has stated the block is almost completed. It will use SRP pistsons with a 8.5:1 compression, stock rods, a hydraulic cam with 260° of duration and .603 lift, Comp pushrods, LS6 valve springs, and Melling oil pump. They are working along side Brian Macy at Horsepower Connection to work on a solution for spark and fuel system.

They are also working on the manifold for the 14-71 Littlefield blower that will sit on top. Once everything is figured out and tested the builder estimates 1,200 horsepower should be an easy obtainable figure. I sure hope they are still planning on putting it in a Datsun 240Z.

If making a V12 wasn’t satisfying enough they also can make a V4 out of the pieces left over. They plan on taking one of these V4 engines and turbocharging it.
