The engine powering this VW is a 3.2 L Porsche 911 flat-six. This is the second 911 engine after the first one tried to destroy itself. The rest of the drivetrain components came from a Porsche 944 S2, such as the transaxle, front spindles, rear suspension, and four-piston Brembo brakes.
