I mounted my iPhone on a monopod with a ballhead. The monopod was mounted with a super clamp on a light tripod. The tripod itself was fixed with two tension belts to the car's seat rails. Damageable parts were protected with simple towels. Pretty risky configuration. But because of the light weight of the iPhone it was stable enough.
