As sponsors of the world-famous event, Bentley had its largest ever presence, featuring a range of Bentley models past and present, at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2012, which ranfrom Friday 29th June to Sunday 1st July 2012.
The 'Home of Bentley' at Goodwood featured a range of Bentley models as well as a vision of the company's future - the EXP 9 F SUV concept. Joining the EXP 9 F on display was the Mulsanne Mulliner Driving Specification (MDS) and the new Continental GT V8 and the New Continental GT Speed - both of which also went 'up the Hill'.
Joining the modern Bentley models on the Hill were two cars from the Company's Le Mans heritage. The Bentley Speed 8 that was victorious at the 2003 Le Mans 24 Hours made two runs per day, as did the 41/2-litre supercharged "Team Car" that was raced extensively by renowned Le Mans winner and Bentley Boy Tim Birkin in the 1920s. Fresh from completing the Mille Miglia for the third time, the Team Car was driven at Goodwood by Bentley's Chairman and Chief Executive, Wolfgang Dürheimer.
Driving duties for the Bentley models fell to three modern-day Bentley Boys: Le Mans legend Derek Bell MBE, four-time world rally champion Juha Kankkunen and Guy Smith, who drove the winning Speed 8 across the finish line at Le Mans in 2003.
