We all do it don't we? We've got a car already that needs work doing, but we can't help planning the next one. Recently I've been having indecent thoughts about Triumph Heralds (again). I'm no stranger to the little blighters having owned a variety over the years; a 1600 Vitesse, a 13/60 Convertible, a Vitesse Estate and a 302'd 1200 have all called my driveway home over the years and every now and then I start to want another.
This time I thought I'd create a visual representation of those thoughts. It's based on a 13/60 (the cleanest lines of the various front ends in my opinion), but the original lump has long gone - in it's place is something more modern - a BMW 4 or 6 cylinder I reckon. Something RWD, plentiful and with cheap donors available. Suspension is via off-the-shelf uprated coilovers up front and a negative camber rear spring out back. Wheels are the originals banded and painted a classic cream, a colour also found on those 'GT' style stripes across the lower body. Vitesse bumper trims supply a bit of shine to go with the hubcaps and the same car also supplies some welcome stopping power to go with the new motor.
