If you want to see Kings of Nitro: Nina Carbone of The Gamma Project, who have produced the Reality TV Series Kings of Nitro which features FIA European Top Fuel Dragster Champion and Eurodragster.com sponsor Urs Erbacher, has asked for the help of German fans to get the series screened in their country and also Urs’ home country of Switzerland.
“DMAX in Germany are actually a separate company from Discovery and, essentially, do their own thing”, says Nina. “So they are not automatically showing Kings of Nitro. I have hired a company, Granada International, who are getting the show out around the world to non-Discovery channels. They have, for example, just confirmed it will be shown on a non-Discovery channel in Australia and New Zealand.”Granada are trying to get the show on TV in Germany and out to the German fans. But unbelievably, they’ve been told by German TV channels, including DMAX, that channel execs are unsure there’s a drag racing audience in Germany. Absurd I say, judging from Urs’ huge German fan base and the great reception he received at the Nitrolympx while we where filming! And we’ve got Marcus Walz, German Custom Bike supremo, going head-to-head with Urs in two episodes.
“Granada are saying to me that if enough German drag racing fans email us via the Kings of Nitro web site saying that they want to see this show and asking when will it be on in Germany etc, then they can show these E-Mails to the German execs and close the deal, securing a broadcast channel for Germany. “My main concern is for Urs and the guys. The German TV channels fall under one broadcast area including Switzerland and Austria as well as Germany.
I really feel that the guys from the Erbacher team should have the experience of seeing the show on the TV sitting with their families and friends as it goes out live - they’re such a great group of people who deserve all the success they’ve striven for. Also, these countries are Urs’ main source of racing sponsorship and Custom Bike customers. So it is important to Urs’ businesses too.
