If a report recently published by Inside Line is to be believed, Toyota's highly-anticipated RWD compact coupe could be released to the Japanese market only, effectively destroying hopes of a global sports car revival by the Japanese automaker.
Don't break out the Kleenex just yet though, as this is pure rumour for now. Inside Line is the only outlet to break this news and their man in Japan Peter Lyon is normally on the ball when it comes to predictions like this, but we have to wonder: why would Toyota want to shoot itself in its proverbial foot by restricting sales of the FR Sports to Japan? We'll be pushing for more verification of this rumour, but until then we're going to cautiously say that no, your modern-day Initial D fantasy isn't about to be ruined... yet.
