The news that a base-model R35 GT-R lapped the mighty Nurburgring Nordschliefe in an incredible 7 minutes 29 seconds was greeted by a mixture of adulation and skepticism. Adulation because this was every Porsche-hating Nissan fanboy's dream, and skepticism because it was a bog-standard factory-spec Nissan, and Nissans can't be that fast, right? Wrong.
Thanks to a kindly enthusiast who just happened to be wandering past a Nissan booth with his handicam, we can now lay eyes on the full unedited 7:29 lap. It's quick, really quick and the entire track is devoid of other vehicles - which would have certainly helped driver Tochio Suzuki concentrate on the task at hand. Now Mr Nissan, where's the HQ version?
