Word from general-purpose car mag Car and Driver is that Nissan's smokin' hot Spec-V variant of their all-conquering R35 GT-R will likely make its debut at the Paris Motor Show this October, with sales beginning in December.
We're not sure whether to trust this info or not, but C&D's estimation puts the Spec-V's launch right where most have previously guesstimated it to be: roughly one year after the base model's introduction in Japan. Obviously the Japanese will be the first to sample the lighter, stronger Spec-V, with other markets having to endure the same one-year gap between the base and flagship model. However, we're sure there'll be at least a few grey imports that will slip through the cracks.
The Spec-V is rumoured to benefit from a 150kg reduction in weight and around 50kW more power which, combined with the carbon-ceramic brakes it's been spotted with and the reinforced gearbox it's rumoured to have, should make for a pretty exciting ride.
Oh yeah, Nissan executives have reportedly described the GT-R as "unprofitable" for the automaker. Well, so is the Bugatti Veyron. Get over it.
