Mitsubishi have updated the Eclipse with a new look for 2009, with the marque aiming to give the nose-heavy coupe the look of an "attainable exotic".
Since the demise of the AWD Eclipse GSX in 1999, we generally don't have much time for the Eclipse. However, we just had to make an exception for the '09 update because, well, it looks awesome. The trapezoidal front bumper openings give the Eclipse a bit of a Lancer Evo flavour (although it doesn't quite gel with the old headlamp design and it shamelessly apes the R35 GT-R), while the fake rear diffuser, rear wing and dual exhausts give an illusion of high performance, if nothing else.
Anyway, while it won't give Evo drivers anything to worry about on the winding roads of the touge, we're willing to bet that the Eclipse will make a much better pussy-magnet than any boxy, be-winged sports sedan. It's a different kind of performance car, I guess.
