Six Degrees of Separation – Jeep

Let’s take this to the next level. Up until now, the Hemmings Six Degrees of Separation Challenge has followed a format of linking two separate automakers in six degrees or less. And you brilliant readers have always come up with a solution. Which makes me wonder: Is every automaker somehow connected to every other automaker? Are there any automakers that cannot be connected to the rest of the industry?

So let’s try a new variant of the Six Degrees challenge, more akin to the Kevin Bacon variant. I’ll post a goal, a “fox” – in this week’s case, it’s Jeep. The first person to comment on this post gets to suggest a “hound,” that is, another automaker to be linked to the “fox” in six degrees or less. Successive commenters then take up the challenge, and if they can link the “hound” to the “fox,” they get to suggest another “hound.” Whoever suggests a “hound” that stumps everybody else wins.

To make this sporting, please suggest hounds that are fairly well known – so don’t suggest McQueegle Hornflapper’s Henway as a hound. And as always, a link consists of one company owning another, merging with another or sharing another’s parts.
