SIA Flashback - El Morocco and Big Wheels at Goodyear

So who wouldn’t want Cadillac style at a Chevrolet price? Such a car would have had the best of both worlds, and two enterprising Detroiters - Reuben Allender and Cyril Olbrich - decided to make that car a reality by modifying a number of 1956 and 1957 Chevrolets. Interestingly, the project ended not by Chevrolet’s objections (which would have been the case in today’s litigous society) but by a falling out between Allender and Olbrich (who later worked on the Woodill Wildfire project). For some additional reading from SIA #19, November-December 1973, we found a story about the genesis of monster tires and the Flxible-built Buicks that towed them around the country.
