Sadler Mk1, a Canadian racin’ Triumph in a sexy outfit

Sadler Mk1

In my RSS reader, I have a number of blogs for automotive news, a number of blogs for general automotive interest, and I have several blogs for automotive inspiration. David Black’s Vintage Sports Car Review is one of the latter, and he recently got the gears in my skull turnin’ with the photos he posted of the Sadler Mk. 1, which, according to Harold Pace in “Vintage American Road Racing Cars, 1950-1969,” was the first effort by Canadian Bill Sadler to build his own race car. It apparently used Jowett Jupiter running gear, a ladder frame, a “crude” aluminum body, and a Triumph TR-2 engine fitted with Sadler’s own fuel injection system (later replaced with a small-block Chevrolet V-8).

Sadler Mk. 1

I think I have a new obsession. Thanks, David. Now, anybody know where it is today?
