RIP, Barney Navarro

Knew he was sick for quite a while, and everybody wondered about Barney when he sold off some of his shop contents a couple years ago, but we heard just this morning that Barney Navarro died, two days after his 88th birthday. Here’s to the man who not only gave us good flathead hop-up items but also dared to stick a pair of turbochargers on a Rambler six-cylinder engine and race it at Indy.
