round-the-world Midget

* Had plenty of links to clear out of my bookmarks this week, so you readers get a bonus Four-Links today. First off, Heather pointed out this piece on CNN’s iReport on a 1977 Midget’s round-the-world trip, helmed by Brit Roy Locock. Locock and his Midget have been through Australia, Pakistan and Iran, and are soon headed through the United States.

* The Blue Ridge Institute and the Museum of Ferrum College recently had a display on racing and hot rodding in southwest Virginia, and they put together a pretty nifty website for the exhibition, including a gallery of photos all taken at the Roanoke Drag Strip. (via)

high-school Firebird restoration

* Getting young people involved in the hobby is an admirable goal, and East Syracuse-Minoa High School teacher Ryan Beckley has succeeded in that goal by having his students restore a vintage muscle car every year. This year’s resto project is a 1969 Firebird, which will be raffled off this summer to fund next year’s program. (via)

Continental Mark II

* Finally, our friend Barry Wolk informed us that Continental Mark II enthusiasts now have a home for themselves on the web at the new Mark II Forum, where the members have already begun the process of updating the Mark II Registry.
