* If you’re a fan at all of front-engined dragsters, the We Did It For Love guys have a photo tour you’ll drool over: They visited Bucky Austin’s collection in Tacoma, Washington, a couple years ago, and marveled at both the restored dragsters (and drag cars) in the front showroom as well as the yet-unrestored dragsters hanging from the ceiling in the basement. * Our buds at J-lop picked up on the story of British mechanic Jimmy Blanche, who amassed a collection of antique Brit cars for decades. Of course, we all know how this story ends: Jimmy dies and the cars head to auction. So if you fancy yourself a Daimler or Singer, perhaps you oughta be booking your tickets to England now: The Keys auction will take place April 4 in Aylsham, Norfolk.

* Another collection headed to auction, though this one’s taking place later this month in Auckland, New Zealand, and it focuses on motorcycles , and a wide range of them, at that. Triumphs, Nortons and BSAs abound, but there’s also a 1948 Indian Chief and the above bike, Burt Munro’s Velocette drag bike, built with Duncan Meikle, almost entirely handbuilt. (via )

* We’ll stay around that corner of the world for the next collection we came across: That of a line of Australian hoons and their cars , waiting to get into the Greater Union drive-in near Sydney to see the premiere of Eric Bana’s Love the Beast , all about Bana’s 25-year love affair with his Falcon XB. Unfortunately, we haven’t yet heard of any plans for a wide release of the movie in the States.

* And finally, one more collection, though this one a virtual collection of shorty cars (and vans) over at the H.A.M.B. Do they make no sense? Yes. Do they look comical? Yes. But a few of us oddballs love ‘em. Just about every typical shorty is represented, along with a few unexpected ones, showing you just what works when slicing the center out of a vehicle and what doesn’t work. I still want to shorty-ize an Astro van.

* Oh, heck, let’s go with one more collection. This one’s also in a foreign land, though not one you’d normally associate with backyard hoarders. The guys at Japanese Nostalgic Car came across this private Japanese junkyard , and while the owner’s still alive (and the neighbors don’t seem to mind!), it doesn’t appear as if the cars are going to move anytime soon.
