Big trucks tend to be a little outside the field of interest for most classic car/truck enthusiasts, but go to any ATHS show, and half the field is heavy-duty trucks. The guys at BigLorryBlog would be the guys drooling over that half of the field. While they normally cover Euro and modern big rigs, every now and then they touch on something older and thus cooler, like this mystery “Yankee Clipper” photographed in Iowa. Ain’t never seen nothing like it.
* Over at the Hemmings forums, Barry tipped us off to a scale modeler under the name of Fine Art Models that aims simply to make his automobile models look like the real thing when photographed properly. Without actually putting my hands on one (and I think my hands would like to get on one), these appear to be the most insanely detailed models I’ve ever seen.
* Dealerships have never received much recognition for their place in automotive history, even though much of automotive history wouldn’t have been possible without them. For AMCers, only the last vestiges of some of their marque’s dealerships remain, and theAMCForum.com member Ohio AMX has set out to chronicle the ones he can find still around. Not a bad project for amateur automotive historians.
