Members over at m5forums.com didn't think anything of it when they received an "innocent" question from an 18-year-old M5 owner about gear clunk that occurred when paddle-shifting at 140 mph?some of them even doubted that "AmericanM5" was for real. Scolded last Friday by forum participants for his apparently idiotic driving habits and his lack of car knowledge, AmericanM5 reacted with good-natured deference?and then promptly ran the M5 (which turned out to be his dad's) sideways off the ramp of a private runway in Florida, got airborne and sailed into a tree, killing himself and four of his friends. Oops. It must suck to be m5forums.com, who I'm sure are going to get blamed one way or another for the actions of this genius. Full story at Edmunds.
