"World's Most Beautiful Roadster" From '84 Really Ugly

According to the eBay listing, this was voted "World's Most Beautiful Roadster" at the Oakland Roadster Show in 1984. But looking at it really makes me wonder just what the hell was going on in California that year. Is it just me, or is this thing—named the "California Star"—just completely hideous? It looks like a pair of cheap plastic sunglasses which swelled up and sprouted wheels. For the last couple of decades, it's been stored in a barn, and with lines like this, it probably should have stayed there. For more details and pics, head over to eBay.
