Volvo has stated that its goal is to completely eliminate accidents in the future. But if the ridiculously hot Tandem Car becomes a reality, other drivers might be too captivated to pay attention to the road. The passenger in the two-person vehicle would ride behind the driver—like in a jet fighter—which would allow for an extremely narrow profile, and obviously, the car would be designed to be hyper-efficient. While this looks like something you'd expect to see in a showroom in say, 2079, the team at Volvo's Monitoring & Concept Center have said they're aiming to release it in 2010. While I don't think there's a snowball's chance in hell they'll actually make that goal, I'd love to see these become a reality. More info over at Dvice.
