I'm sure that by now, buyers purchase a Ferrari F430 with the expectation that it's gonna catch fire sooner or later, but one enterprising eBay seller has taken it to a whole new level by offering the fire-prone ride pre-cooked. AutoBlogStar found this auction on eBay, where bidders pushed the fire victim up to $110,100?and still failed to meet the reserve price. Is the seller insane? Well, he happens to be a Ferrari parts dealer, and the crispy F430 just needs a few bits to make it like new again. He's provided a handy shopping list to tell you exactly what you should get once you take delivery of your new roasted hulk. Here's a sampling:
* Right hand side radiator cage (In Stock new $1850.00) * Right Hand side radiator ($1850 New) * Right hand fender (In stock $1500 Used) * Right hand headlight (In Stock $1500 Used) * Right hand wire harness (New $475.00) * Right hand fender badge (New $600) A 600-dollar fender badge?? Couldn't you just glue on one of these? * Front bumper (In stock $2000 Used) * Windshield ($2200 New)
I know I'm not exactly accustomed to exotic-car parts pricing, but seriously: a 600-dollar fender badge?? Couldn't you just glue on one of these? Oh wait, I guess not, because then you'd have Ferrari's lawyers knocking on your door and saying you're not allowed to call it a Ferrari anymore. In any case, I'm sure the seller will be re-listing the F430, convinced that someone will actually want to try fixing it. Considering the prices above, wouldn't he be better off parting it out?
