Hooniverse Weekend Edition – A 1991 Pontiac Sunbird NASCAR Replica on Craigslist

It really takes balls to paint your 1991 Pontiac Sunbird to look like a 1992 NASCAR racecar. Well, at least one NASCAR fan in Sheboygan Wisconsin has a pair, and it’s a pretty good interpretation of the 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix that Ward Burton campaigned in during that years NASCAR season. And now it’s up for sale.

According to the listing:

1991 Pontiac Sunbird for sale. 3.4 V6, automatic, PS, PB, A/C. AM/FM/CD stereo, cruise, etc. Painted like Ward Burton’s #22 race car in 1992. Car is STREET LEGAL!! Just tuned up–runs great.

Just like any custom car, one man’s vision is another man’s pariah. Replication of a now 20 year old NASCAR racecar on a 21 year old Sunbird will only be admired on the track of a 24-Hours of Lemons event. However, the asking price is a little high, and at $1,700, you either have to bribe the judges quite a bit, or take your penalty laps and enjoy it. It already has a built in theme, so why not. I bet you could talk the owner down by a few hundred dollars anyway. See the listing here, and tell me what you think.
