Networkhooniverse.comFinland Fintail – 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air

Some things have been breathtaking to look at from the get go, never becoming dulled down by the passing of time. The ’59 Chevys are such things; in my opinion the cat-eye tail-lighted Bel Air, Biscayne and Impala were the wildest-looking production cars the company made for a long time.

I got to see this candy apple red Bel Air this afternoon. Do the same and have a look.

It’s pretty much the perfect colour combination, isn’t it? Shiny lustrous red with a white top. Inside, matching two-tone vinyl. Am I right in thinking the wheels are quite a bit newer?

The plate info I could sherlock says the car has the Blue Flame 235ci straight-six, with 136 horses at that point.

The rear arches have been spruced up recently and are still in primer. That’s basically the sole flaw on the car in my opinion, and since it’s for the greater good it means nothing. Hope the owner gets them looking ship shape soon.

Yeah, that rear end. It manages to look like an angry cat and a bat spreading its wings at the same time. I’m not quite sure of those tailpipes, but with the rallye wheels they do add to the general show-off style.

See that? A complete Bel-Air article without mentioning the Fresh Prince until the last paragraph. Smell you later!
