The Lingenfelter Collection is made up of three rooms.  The first room is my favorite, “The Supercar Room”!  Click through the jump to see a bit of the excitement provided by this room.  Thanks to Ken for the private tour, it was a fun and exciting 3 hours.

A relatively early Veyron, but it’s still impressive.  A Veyron takes command of a room, it isn’t a particularly attractive vehicle, but it is interesting in it’s own right.  While it only has a few thousand miles, Ken has driven it, including across Detroit in rush hour traffic.

These two vehicles, the FF above, and the 996 Twin Turbo below, were shod with Nokian Hakkapeliitta Snow tires.  Equipped with All Wheel Drive, and gobs of power, these should be a ton of fun in a good Michigan winter.  While the FF is brand new, the 996 only looked as though it was.  For a car over 10 years old, this one was immaculate.  The tan interior was perfect, and the guards red paint was flawless.

A vehicle that I had never seen before, the Enzo, was another impressive addition to the collection.  While I remain unsure that the Enzo is a fitting tribute to Mr. Ferrari’s name, I probably would not kick it out of bed for leaving crumbs.

This car is the one that many of us had on the wall of our bedrooms as youths.  It was produced well before I was into cars, but it’s influence was long lasting.   A crazy force of turbocharged power, and a whole lot of crazy went into this car’s production.

Before the F40 was the 288 GTO.  Technically, very similar, the 288, in my eyes, looks much better, and supposedly was easier to drive, as it had less boost, and less turbo lag.

IMG_6570

No collection would be complete without a row of Porsches.  Definitely my favorite part.

IMG_6568

I 100% believe Ken when he says that this was the nicest Z3 M Coupe he could find when he was looking for one.  The two-tone interior was gorgeous.

IMG_6566

This NSX was the newest addition to the collection.  So new, in fact, that Ken had not yet driven it.  He said “I always heard how good these things are, so I wanted to try one.”

IMG_6565

A Chevy tuner still has to have a few Ford powered things in his garage.  Why not?

IMG_6544

This is probably the only turbocharged car I lust after more than a 288 GTO.  The 930 slant nose is an icon, and this particular model being a 1989, has the coveted 5 speed G50 gearbox (a one year only addition before discontinuation).

IMG_6534

Ken reckon’s that this was only the 4th federalized 959 in the country.  The first three going to Bill Gates, Jerry Seinfeld, and Ralph Lauren.  I had never seen one, and this had to be the major draw of the whole trip.  If the “collection” had turned out to be just this car, I would still have been happy.

IMG_6633

Very rare, but not exactly desirable, the Shelby Series 1 in all it’s Oldsmobile-powered glory.

IMG_6592

One of the most beautiful cars in the world, the Alfa 8C.  Jeremy Clarkson once commented on this car’s proportions by saying,

“as Sir Francis Bacon once said, ‘there is no beauty which hath not some strangeness about its proportions’. And he’s right, who ever he is. I mean, look at keira Knightley. She’s just an ironing board with a face. And she works.”

A Vector.  Nothing more needs to be stated.

[Editor's note: This room also housed a 1 of 20 Lamborghini Reventon, but in my excitement and the flow of the conversation, I neglected to take even one fucking picture of it.  I have 20 damn shots of an Impala SS, but the Reventon, not a single one.  What is wrong with me?]
