The yellow-and-white combo on this 1964 Triumph Spitfire for sale on Hemmings.com certainly makes for a cheery little roadster, but more important, the Spitfire has been treated to a full restoration and a recent refresh, so it appears to be road-trip ready as it sits. From the seller’s description:

One senior owner from new! (1964, titled in 1965) 3 year frame off restoration years ago by senior owner, and not ever used or driven since. From a private collection of vintage Rolls Royce purchased by a friend of mile how did not want this Spitfire. This Triumph Spitfire is stunning! It looks brand new in every respect as it has always been garage stored, covered and pampered.

It required about $1,500 to bring it back mechanically after a long period without use. Gas tank was cleaned and sealed. New HD Battery. Rebuilt the carburetors, Change all fluids, oil, filters, rebuilt the calipers, clutch and brake slave cylinder, etc. This Spitfire runs and looks terrific, is great fun to drive, and a real find.

The restoration was done by a professional restoration shop in Florida over a 3 year period. Parts receipts alone were over $11,000, with an itemized list to long to list here. It was a very extensive and proper restoration that looks as good now as is when it was done. The yellow paint is still perfect, (no bubbles anywhere) as is the interior, convertible top, tonneau cover chrome, etc. These early Triumph Spitfires are somewhat rare and very handsome with unique classic styling, much more interesting than later Spitfires. Find a one owner car that has had a frame off restoration that looks like and runs like new is even more unusual. Offered for sale for little more than the cost of parts, which were much less expensive when this beauty was restored.
