One year ago we had the pleasure to go for the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. We immediatly discovered our great failure going there without movie equipment. Sure, we took many, many photos (SEMA Show 2010, OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational 2010) but storytelling without filmaking from that event in Nevada is like listening to your favorite music in mono.
We have learned. Now we have two film-guys joining us, Jan Wigger and Dean Malay. These are the same guys we have had this awesome time when visiting the "Rolex 24 at Daytona". So we are on the road - fully equiped and there are more things to be proud of. We have continued our our partnership with Continental (s. Pressemitteilung) so we decided to head for the Dubai Motor Show as well.
Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Dubai
The scedule: The beginn of our journey will be in Los Angeles 11/31. From here will will drive to Las Vegas and after SEMA has ended we will continue our way to Dubai, the capital of UAE. At least we will be 14 days on the road - this will be 14 days of "Chromjuwelen En Route" and "Continental Extreme". Muscle Cars, Hot Rods, Mini Trucks and Bling Bling in the desert (SEMA Show Las Vegas), Sport-, Super- and Hyper-Cars at the Gulf of Persia (Dubai Motor Show).
It´s our plan to make a "Chromjuwelen Road Movie", again. Very similar to the "Rolex 24 at Daytona"-documentation, where we have taken snippets from pocket-/smartphone-cameras and the professional made clips to create a 45-Minute "Chromjuwelen Road Movie" . Some of you may remember.
Mopar or no car
And now, the answer of the most important question: Why is shown a 1964 Chrysler Imperial Crown on the opening picture? Simply because we just bought the car. Somehow accidently, via Internet, nearly blind - ok - blind on one eye. Klaus Rasch, our Off-Road-Partner of race-dezert.com, lended us his eyes to inspect the car. Klaus discovered four wheels on the luxury Mopar, and working brakes and steering. Perfect. Will we make it to Las Vegas, are we even able to leave LA city limits? We do not know. But we will have fun, for sure. Mopar or no car!
We will tell the story of our new Chromejewel, our experience, our trip here on Chromjuwelen.com. Then we will know the meaning of attributes like "needs some TLC" and "runs and drives" which were used in the description of the car.
