SEMA 2009: 1947 Hudson Pickup with Power Stroke Diesel

 Swap1, 10.11.2009 in Partner- und Mitglieder-Blogs, engineswapdepot.com

Who knows if the original straight six was still under this 1947 Hudson pickup’s hood when this project started but in went a turbocharged 7.3L Ford Power Stroke engine. The engine comes with fire-ringed heads, 100hp injectors, and a big 88mm turbo. The engine is hooked to a ATS 4R100 transmission through an ATS Five Star torque converter. The original estimate was to make 1,000 horsepower but apparently makes 800 horsepower right now. It could be due to the fact that the rear wheels are...

Dual Chevy V8 Buggy

 Swap1, 05.11.2009 in Partner- und Mitglieder-Blogs, engineswapdepot.com

Tired of the same old stuff in the hot rod community, Yannick Sire set off to create on something unique. Something that would combine dragster type power with the Rad Rod aesthetics. He also required it to be comfortable and dependable to drive. The engines are two Chevy 350 ci with AFR heads making about 450 horsepower each. Since all the accessories are attached to the rear engine, the car can still operate with the front engine gone. Custom headers relieve the 16 cylinders and also create...

 Swap1, 02.11.2009 in Partner- und Mitglieder-Blogs, engineswapdepot.com

At some point a S2000 lost control and wrapped the back end around a tree or pole. Unfortunatly the body was lost but the S2000’s heart got a second chance. The 247 horsepower F20C found a new place inside the engine bay of a 1965 Ford Cortina. The F20C is using all factory wiring and ECM. Also installed is a full roll cage and upgraded suspension to help this classic iron in the turns. The car currently weights 1,800 lbs which is roughly 1,000 lbs lighter then a S2000. Ferrari F40 Silhouette with Turbocharged Toyota 1UZ-FE

 Swap1, 29.10.2009 in Partner- und Mitglieder-Blogs, engineswapdepot.com

Don’t worry its not a real Ferrari F40 but a F40 Silhouette kit car. I would have expected far too many F40 owners’ to spontaneously combust had it been real. Now I know this technically doesn’t fall under an engine swap since kit cars are not intended for a specific engine but I felt it was too cool pass on. Instead of a twin turbocharged 2.9L V8 which Ferrari choose to power a real F40, the builders decided to go with a 700 horsepower twin turbocharged 4.0L 1UZ-FE Toyota V8....

After racing this 1991 NSX for six years in mostly NASA & NSX-only events, Ms. Badwrench Racing decided to build what they call “the Ultimate NSX Hybrid“. They were going to take the factory Honda C30A V6 and replace it with a GM LS7 V8. Their goal was to make a streetable car that resembled a Daytona Prototype or ALMS GT-1 racecar. The LS7 engine will produce 750 horsepower and 700 torque running on E-85 ethanol. The engine will be similar to the one that Katech builds for the...
