So a couple weekends ago this olelongrooffan was attending a local car show with one of my brothers, thehorsefarmer, and we spotted a pair of cool ass old trucks. Â Although not in my favorite stock condition, these two are in immaculate condition and certainly very Hoonworthy. Â If the color combination above holds any interest from my fellow Hoons, please make the jump to see a few more images of these classics.
I am pretty sure this is the first time this olelongrooffan has seen a Bowtie of this vintage equipped with a longbed Fleetside package. Â I have seen a Cameo, one as recently as a couple months ago but this thing really caught our eye. Â That is thehorsefarmer behind the hood of that truck and that girl is his granddaughter, my great niece. Â Her name? Â TheLittlePrincess appropriately enough.
It was in fantastic condition and even thehorsefarmer commented on the quality of the build. Â Interestingly enough, the owner of the company where this olelongrooffan shleps trailers designed a “woodie” trailer with a wood floor just like this truck bed. Â That thing is sweet.
Underneath the hood, this truck is all business. Â No straight six and three on the tree remains with this ole beast. Â Modern powerplant with a floor mounted automatic and a/c are the way to for this owner.
Out back it has the big window and the chrome on this thing is in fantastic shape. Â The design of that rear bumper is just plain ass cool to me.
As mentioned, there is an interior floor mounted automatic shifter and other than that steering wheel and oil pressure gauge, it appears to be mostly stock. Â FTW
This olelongrooffan got to chatting it up with that dude in the beard after I asked him if I could photo his truck and he replied in the affirmative. Â I mentioned it would be appearing here in the Hooniverse some subsequent Thursday. Â He asked for our URL and I gave it to him. Â We didn’t really say a whole lot more but if the owner of this sweety reads this, Thanks for bringing it out to the show for us to see. Â As I told you that day, Sweet Truck Dude.
And parked next to it was another one, equally as nice, just not as rare. Â I’m pretty sure this is a 65 or 66 Bowtie.
I always loved how the turn signals are mounted in the hood.
This one had the original steering wheel and column shifter for that automatic but was upgraded with some new gauges and under dash air conditioning.
Under the hood this one is all business as well.
And to this olelongrooffan, these door mounted mini mirrors are the bomb. Â Wouldn’t want to tow a trailer with them though.
