If you were planning on picking up a brand-new R35 GT-R but were simply waiting for the requisite amount of pennies and farthings to accumulate in your wallet, you'd better get prepared to wait just a little bit longer. That's right, citing "increased raw materials costs," Nissan has decided to raise the GT-R's MSRP by just under seven thousand Yankee dollars - $6,990 USD, to be exact. That brings prices to $76,840 for the base model, and 79,090 for the Premium. Granted, its still nowhere...

People often ask me how to get their car in the magazine. Sometimes it's luck--which is technically when preparation meets opportunity. One of our readers, Koichiro Kanda, posted some photos of his S2000-powered '71 Celica on our message board a while back. Our interest was piqued, and while visiting Southern California our art director photographed the car. Fast forward to today, and the issue featuring Koichiro's car is now on the newsstands. Cool,...

I’d been meaning to share this for a while, but David’s post on the Packard plant in Detroit motivated me to highlight a couple photos of the Fleetwood auto body factory still standing today in Fleetwood, Pennsylvania.
The photos come to us from Belle’sDaddy, who also provided the photos of Smiley’s Studebaker Garage in East Greenville, Pennsylvania. As you can see from the second photo, the factory and the wedge of land it’s on is currently (well, as of March)...

You have to admire a man with the confidence it takes to roll in a pink ride, but what really cracks me up is Jake's explanation for his 240SX's new color: "I realize that it would definetly look much better if i were to paint it all black or a gun metal gray... but anyone can make a black car look sweet. Not everyone can make a pink car sweet." But this car isn't any powder puff: he's also had it apart for a complete engine build-up, including reworked internals...

For the record, I don't think they do, and when I bought the only new vehicle I've ever owned, it was canary yellow. But in spite of my pro-yellow stance, I still found the Yellow Cars Suck post on JediMonkeys way funny. Basically, the author took the first page of google results for "yellow car" and made snide comments about all the images, and it's just as juvenile as it sounds. Check out the description of the photo below: "Some loon tied a monkey to this stupid...

Think you can drift? Think again. Sure, your wimpy little one-wheel skids might impress the jailbait that lives near your local industrial estate, but if you REALLY want some big-time kudos, try doing it like Yoshi Shinya: without using your legs. You see, Yoshi's a paraplegic, so pedals are not an option for him. Yet thanks to some ingenious driving aids and a huge degree of manual dexterity, Yoshi still manages to pull off some pretty decent drifts in his JZX100 Toyota Cresta. Check out the...

First off, let me say I think Yellowstone National Park is a wonderful place, indeed, a treasure. Every which way you turn, there's another breathtaking vista—just look at the picture below!—and it would make me really sad if some developer paved over it and threw up a bunch of condos. But Sunday's first checkpoint was at the park's Grand Visitor Center, which is deep inside it, and accessible only by roads with a 30MPH speed limit. Added bonus? Speeding inside the park...

Sick of the daily search for a parking lot for your jalopy? Bothered by climbing gas prices? Then how about using a scooter for daily driving duties? They are small, they are cheap and they can be really cool. Just think about the Honda Ruckus, which comes with an injected four-stroke engine and a ton of custom parts. Another fresh candidate is the Yamaha C3. It might not seem like the best basis for a custom bike, but the guys at Tokyoparts created a real monster...

Yamaha C3 Giggle ''vox'' (TOKYOPARTS) Genervt vom Honda Zoomer-Hype?

Car and Driver is running a list of what it calls "frugal" summer convertibles. Frankly, I've always had a fantasty of picking up a junkyard ragtop and running it for a summer or two, so I was stoked, but when I ran down the list what I found is that these nice new cars like the $29,680 VW Eos and the $38,475 Audi TT are really only "frugal" for those who have a lot of money to throw around in the first place. If you're a little strapped, or maybe the type whose...

Get back from lunch today and see everybody standing around this Cobra that had just come off the lift in the Hemmings Sibley shop. Okay, so it’s a 289, which is cool, but what’s the big deal?
Four Webers, okay, that makes it cooler. And everything underhood’s starting to look like the real deal, not like yet another kit…
And yes, the owner confirmed it’s the real deal, listed in the Shelby Cobra registry. And yes, he drives it - of course, the Vermont highways...

A couple of idiotic teenagers were attempting to catch some air at an intersection and get some glory on YouTube when they wrecked their 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse.
Authorities said the car did go airborne, but the 16-year-old driver lost control of his car, drove off the road and hit several trees before rolling the vehicle. The driver was ejected and is in critical condition. His 17-year-old female passenger was pulled from the car by friends who witnessed...
