Every year I go to various car shows and cruise-ins, but there's only one I really wait for. Unfortunately it's a long wait, since it doesn't happen until the end of the summer on the weekend after Labor Day: I'm talking about the Adirondack Nationals. It's scheduled as an all-weekend show, but cars start trickling into Lake George, NY as early as the Monday before.
The main show itself is held at the Fort William Henry Resort, and houses several hundred...

What a weekend! With over 300 km of competitve stages, the New Zealand rally offered enough gravel to pick out of your teeth for days to come. The weather held off and the light gravel stages made for some pretty impressive driving and some very interesting tactics. On the first day, Jarri-Matti Latvala slowed before the last stage of the day to force two cars ahead of him to clear a lot of the loose gravel. And again, on the second day, rally leader Sebastien Loeb...

Here's some eye candy for you all to perv on. These pics are renderings of Wald's upcoming Sports Line bodykit for the R35, and boy do Wald love vents. Despite the front bumper being mega-fussy, Wald has definitely come up with an eye-catching design for the GT-R. The side view is dominated by those rear over-fenders (which, truth be told, would look a lot better painted the same colour as the body) and the rear features a very Ferrari 599-esque rear diffuser and some kind of...

While I think Ferraris are awesome—they're some of my favorite cars in the American Le Mans Series—I have to admit, I didn't like the California from the beginning. I'm sorry, but the idea of a convertible hard-top on a Prancing Horse just rubs me the wrong way, and when I saw this clip, I was even less stoked about Modena's latest. Because here, the spokesman says that they have "adapted" the California for women. What? Now, any woman I know is more than able to adapt...

Electric cars and hybrids are all the rage right now, and with gas prices still pretty high it's no wonder that we're looking at other alternatives. Jen blogged last month about bringing back the EV1, and though I'm surprised that GM is so cold on the idea, I guess a lot their reluctance has to do with fear of undermining the Volt. Aside from the overpriced Tesla, the one-off AC Propulsion eBox and a handful of in-city EV's that can't do much over 30 mph, there just...

We've joined the Chromjuwelen family today. One of our favourite websites Chromjuwelen also aggregates a number of motoring blogs on its site; we now sit alongside some great content from other worldwide sites.
Whilst we're talking about 'behind the scene' stuff, I'm going to be giving the site a little aesthetic massage in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for that.
We have a couple of new features on the way as well as getting back to more regular posting now that...

Recently heard from David Schultz, HCC columnist and executive director of the Glenmoor Gathering, who informed me that Wayne Cherry, the retired chief of design at GM, will appear at this year’s Glenmoor as the grand marshal of the event and will bring along the last concept car he designed while head of GM styling in Europe, the 1978 Vauxhall Equus two-seat roadster, which Cherry has held on to for the last 30 years.
According to David:
The car was an elegant but simple two-seater...

If you thought that SR20-powered Toyota Aristo speedway racer was weird, then check this out. It seems that some Japanese dude decided that his bright purple luxo-sedan with colour-coded Work Euroline rims wasn't enough of an attention grabbing ride, so he did what any man in his position would do... he grafted the tailgate section and rear windows from a Ford Taurus wagon onto the back. Of course. Kudos goes to Mike Garrett of Auto Otaku fame for stumbling upon this pearler of a find. It's...

So,...

I wanted to blog about a company that is always behind the scenes but often not recognized. Do you know the name Tracy Sports? If not, you soon will…
I met Yamamoto-san from Tracy Sports nearly three years ago. At the time I was so impressed, I instantly decided that I wanted to become their North American distributor despite them being entirely unknown outside of Japan. This happens from time to time, I get lucky and find a great company that nobody...

This Peugeot 206 claims to get 15,000 hp and go from zero to 120 mph in 2.1 seconds—on water! I'd love to know the quarter-mile time on this baby. Check out the video below, and watch an alternate launch here.

A solid hour of classics and customs paraded down 12 Mile in Berkley, MI on Friday night. I was holed up at Milano's Hair Salon, one of the many businesses that hosts parties during the Dream Cruise weekend. Though Berkley's finest chased me out of the road a few times, I was able to snag some decent shots. Head on over to the Events section for a peek at some of the vintage iron that led off the weekend's festivities!

Being the car nut that I am, I sure don't like seeing a classic car going downhill. You may be familiar with the story: someone owns a piece of motoring history but don’t realize what they have (or don’t care) so the car doen't get looked after. I've seen this Chrysler Coupe quite a few times in my area and I finally decided to have a look at it on Saturday. On the surface it appears very salvageable but after taking a closer looks, I've concluded that it has just...

I don't know about you, but when I think about people making art out of old tires, I picture something like the penguin which sits in front of Mr. P's tires in Milwaukee. So when I saw the photo of this gorgeous stallion made out of old rubber, I was blown away. Is this thing gorgeous or what? Check out some more examples of killer tire art over at Pretty Cool Things.

I snuck out for a bit at lunch today to get snarled up in the coolest traffic jam in the US: the Woodard Dream Cruise. Although it doesn't officially start until Saturday morning, the tents were already up and cruisers were out snarling traffic and showing off. Originally conceived in the late 90s as a celebration of automotive culture from the 50s and 60s, the Dream Cruise has morphed into an all-weekend run-what-ya-brung rolling car show for anything...

We know all you nostalgists out there are wheel fiends at heart too. The problems is, if your wheels are as old as your car, it’s probably well worn from decades of abuse as the first line of defense from harsh road conditions, debris and jutting curbs. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to get those rims restored back to their shiny, original splendor. It’s in Japanese but you know how many words a picture’s worth.
And if you’ve got your own set of rare wheels to...
