At the Red Bull Drifting World Championships over the weekend, the best drifters in the world competed for a purse of $25,000 bucks, and the action was hot. Head over to the events section to get the complete results and check out pics from the brawl at Long Beach!

I love rental cars. Not for the hoonage they frequently inspire, but because they are the opposite of press cars. Press cars tend to be higher-end models—the point is to impress the press, after all—whereas rentals are the base-model strippers that no one would ever pretend to own. The Toyota Yaris I picked up outside of LAX last week is a great example of why Americans will never willingly WANT econoboxes. Think of every bad Saturn Ion review you've...

This micro machine looks like a cross between a Volkswagen Bus and a drag semi, and I thought it was pretty hilarious. I'm pretty sure it was in the House of Kolor booth last year, but for some reason, it didn't make the blog. Given that it's called the "Rice Fink," is right-hand drive and has a rising sun painted on the nose, I'm thinking it's an uber-modded JDM mini truck. Anybody know for sure? Two more pics after the jump.

The Honda Pilot is a pretty uninspiring vehicle when viewed in stock form. However, with a few trick upgrades this mild mommy machine has been turned into a pretty rad rally machine. From the well thought out front push guard sporting four Hella lights to the cool Thule roof rack to the rally-inspired interior complete with roll cage and fully-adjustable oh sh*t handles, this little UTE is transformed into something I think Daddy would drive on a regular basis....

Ok, so before everyone freaks out, I know that Rob blogged this Hemi-powered Rolls already. But I had a chance to talk to the builder and got a bunch more photos, so I figured a follow-up post was in order. Joe Richardson of Little Joe's Street Rod Shop constructed this baby for a client who was using it as daily driver, but wanted to transform it into a luxury car that would "go fast." Given that its got a 1350HP Hemi sticking out of the hood—subtlety apparently...

When a got a chance to drive Hyundai's new flagship a couple of months ago, I was pretty impressed with it. And while I thought the interior was great, the stock model doesn't have anything on the one in the pimped-out Genesis Rides is bringing to SEMA. The upgrades to the exterior were pretty subtle—custom bumpers, side skirts, 22" wheels—the guys really went to town on the interior. In addition to the sweet suede accents and the custom rear console, the builders...

SEMA kicks off next Tuesday and if you've been paying attention to the CarDomain Blog we've been covering tons of rides like Topo's widebody Challengers, Vivid Racing's Green Evo-X, and GT-RR.com's Signature GTR build.
But before any of you members go off saying that a car must be over the top expensive to make it to SEMA I wanted to show Rogue Status's Scion XB. Check out the modest Gun Show print design and the custom Capital Forged Gun Show wheels...

With less than a week to go before SEMA, the Ryhs Millen Genesis Coupe is almost done. The car has received carbon fiber fenders, doors and roof panels, an eight point roll cage, and a host of performance mods. See page two of their ride page for the latest pics of the build!

Ever since we saw the rear diffuser on the Renault Megane Trophy shown at the Paris Motor Show we've been on the lookout for cool rear diffusers on CarDomain. JDMgeorgie imported this right-hand drive '92 RX-7 Type R from Japan and started in on the mods, which included this carbon fiber rear diffuser. Doesn't get much more JDM than that.

As a rule we generally don't blog ride pages that have music on them, but after taking a look at Greg's thoroughly badass '59 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer, I couldn't help myself. Besides, since he'd been told the car was a '58 Plymouth Fury when he went to look at it for the first time, it makes sense that he'd have the opening track for Christine as the first song on his playlist. The Dodge has been very thoroughly gone through since he's owned it, and the...

When I think about Russia, the first things which pop into my mind are vodka, AK-47s and loose nukes, so E-Go's Revolt concept caught me by surprise. While the car will be based off an old Mitsubishi platform—Jalopnik thinks it will be the 3000GT—and only sport six cylinders, it will allegedly produce a very respectable 550 horsepower, and the lines are pretty good. Obviously, there's no guarantee this baby will ever be produced, but regardless, the Revolt looks a lot...

Scion always has some of the most inventive (and goofy) cars at SEMA, and the Roach Coach, designed by Kenton Parker, is no exception. Based on catering truck, the xB will have a fridge, stove, sink, countertop area, oven and a large service window on the side. We will definitely hunt this one down at SEMA next month and get you some real life shots.

At every track I go to, I'm always curious to see what kinds of rides the fans show up in. The Road Atlanta crowd sure had a diverse array of cars, from beaters to exotics—and the percentage of old-school content was higher than I'd anticipated. Click below the jump to see a whole gallery of fan rides from the Petit Le Mans this weekend.

I miss Japan days of old. These days I see less and less of this hardcore stuff on the street in Japan, but back a few years ago I’d be amazed often while just walking down the street. I took this picture in a parking lot in Japan and that's all that really needs to be said. The car pictured is a beautifully done Monocraft widebody ZZW30 Toyota MR-S. It even has a bag over the seat, so I think the owner just had it serviced or detailed.
Anyway, the...

We're working with Yuichi of GenCoupe.com to get pics of the car Rhys Millen is building for SEMA. Mods will include a turbo kit for the 2.0-liter four banger, HKS sequential race transmission, coil-over suspension, big Brembo brakes, Enkei wheels, eight-point roll cage and a RMR wide body kit. Check out the ride page for shots of the teardown, and stay tuned for more pics of the build!

So right now, I'm completely freaking out. In a couple of hours, I'm catching a flight to LA, and after that, I'm flying to Seoul, Korea. Hankook tires is bringing me over there tour its R&D Center in Daejeon, and I couldn't be more stoked. I'll be in the air for almost 13 hours, but I don't even care. Now, I know it seems like I get to fly places all the time. But seriously? I've never even been to Mexico! And now I'm going to Korea? For work? Awesome! Obviously, I'll...

Remember the first Nissan SE-R? The car magazines went completely nuts for it back in the day. Well, Motive Mag thought it would be fun to pit the rusty, 135K mile example below against a brand new SE-R Spec V. Their conclusion? The new "Sentra has lost its magic. The Spec V is a better car than the 1991 model, but it's not a better SE-R." Read the full article at Motive Mag.

Over the course of his F1 career, Riccardo Patrese competed in an astounding 257 races, but from the looks of this video, his wife still isn't totally comfortable with his driving ability. This was shot while the pair lapped Spain's Jerez Circuit in a Civic Type-R, and careful viewers might be able to detect that Mrs. Patrese isn't entirely comfortable riding shotgun. Ok, anyone with eyes or ears will be able to tell. But seriously, while she does spent most of this...

Here's a nicely done trailer for "La Carrera Panamericana - Rebirth of a Legend," a soon to be released HD DVD that documents the 2007 La Carrera Panamericana. Quite a bit of footage is devoted to the build of Gary Faules' beautiful 1965 Shelby GT350R. The film will make its debut next month at the Concurso de Motor Sports in the Mexican city of San Miguel de Allende.

Tom is sending me updates on his phone. I snagged the pic from Jalopnik's extensive coverage.
Race started bad with rain all morning. It stopped raining about the start of the race. I was the first driver and did really well until I tried to pass somebody in a corner and hit a barrel and got black flagged. They took me in and I had to throw a dart at a board to find out my punishment. It ended up being "pray to the lord," which was me standing on our car's...
