 Heute ist der Käfer (die 12 Volt Umrüstaktion) wieder von der Hebebühne gekommen. Nun gibt es nur noch tausend andere Kleinigkeiten, die ich aber ohne Hebebühne erledigen kann. Die Probefahrt mit LICHT hat aber schon mal problemlos geklappt. Wie hell 12 Volt doch sein kann. Wenn ich an die letzte Fahrt mit 6 Volt im Dunkeln denke, wird mir immer noch schlecht! Jetzt kann der Breidi auch mal Nachts Käfer fahren, denn nun sieht man, wo man hinfährt! Gute Nacht!

 This week’s ebay Motors Showdown really hit a chord with people. Even with our ongoing commenting issues (now even I can’t comment, and yes, we are working on it) we got a HUGE response on this one. At first it looked like the IROC was gonna walk away with it, but then the Fox body rallied, and in the end this one is just too close to call!
Looks like the 1988 Camaro IROC Z-28 got bid up to $4,550 with the reserve still not met before time ran out. The 1989 Mustang GT auction still...

Ok guys, time for a 3rd gen vs. Fox body showdown! This 1989 Mustang GT looks to have been nicely redone and it’s a 5 speed to boot. The 1988 Camaro IROC Z-28 is unrestored and has some fading paint, but this is slightly rarer car, too, with the L98 5.7 liter TPI (which was only available with the automatic). And of course both come in a killer black/grey color combo. So, which would you choose?

 Wer die diesjährige IAA in Frankfurt besucht hat, hatte die Chance bei der IAA-Aktion "Testpilot gesucht" teilzunehmen. 1400 Besucher wollten den Saab 9-3X gewinnen, geschafft hat es eine Teilnehmerin aus Frankfurt, Kathrin Löfing. Die Frankfurterin arbeitet bei der Lufthansa und nahm heute in Frankfurt den nagelneuen Saab 9-3X entgegen.
Leider darf sie den Saab nicht für immer behalten, sondern ihn lediglich ein halbes Jahr fahren. Der Clou dabei ist, das Saab in dieser Zeit alle...

 Am 28. November startet die 42. Motor Show in Essen und die Tuningschmiede Irmscher wird die Gelegenheit nutzen, um den neuen Astra J zum ersten Mal der Öffentlichkeit zu präsentieren. Der getunte  Opel Astra wurde mit einem umfangreichen Body-Kit veredelt, das eine neue Frontspoilerlippe und einen Dachspoiler beinhaltet. Außerdem gehören Kühlergrill, Seitenschweller und Heckdiffusor zum Body-Kit.

 Eine Reise in die Vergangenheit: Keine Frage, die S-Klasse ist ein Meilenstein von Mercedes-Benz, insbesondere die von 1979 bis 1991 gebaute W126-Baureihe. Am Ende der Produktionszeit, also 1991, nahm Inden Design erstmals eine S-Klasse, Baujahr 1983, unter seine Fittiche, die noch heute wohl gestärkt und durch ihr markantes Design die Blicke auf sich zieht und damals die deutsche Unterwelt und Pimps begeistert haben könnte.

 Last night G-Shock and Mister Cartoon held a media event to launch the Mister Cartoon G-Shock watch that is on its way to retailers now. The event was held at SA Studios in Los Angeles and there was media present from all over. Here are a few photos.

In with all the material Jeff Lane recently sent me on the Dymaxion was this grainy shot of the Dymaxion factory in Bridgeport, Connecticut. You get a glimpse of the factory in some of those videos on the Dymaxion as well, but no specific location, which meant I had to go digging.

 Die BMW Scheinwerfer sollen also in den Pirat. Das bedeutet tüfteln, denn im Original sind die zu tief, man würde an manche Einstellschrauben nicht drankommen, das muß alles schlanker werden. Als Basis habe ich einen typischen 32B Scheinwerfer genommen mit gebrochenen Haltern.
Ziele waren folgende: Die Scheinwerfer sollen Plug&Play einzubauen sein, ohne an der Karosse etwas zu schweißen und die Scheinwerfer sollten von vorne einstellbar sein. Also begann ich die Grundplatte zu ändern. Löcher...

 Jedes Jahr führt die Fachzeitschrift "Auto Zeitung" einen sogenannten Image-Report durch und auch in diesem Jahr schaffte es der Autohersteller Audi an die Spitze der Wertung. Insgesamt 20.088 Leser des Magazins gaben ihre Stimme in 20 Bewertungsbereichen ab. 7 Kategorien konnten die Ingolstädter direkt gewinnen und in 6 weiteren Bereichen reichte es am Ende zu Platz 2.

 Zumindest inoffiziell kann der Keating TKR von sich behaupten den Rekord des SSC Ultima Aero TT geknackt zu haben und somit das schnellste Auto weltweit zu sein. Der britische Kleinserienhersteller soll mit dem auf unglaubliche 1825 PS getrimmten TKR auf einem Salzsee in
den USA mit einer Geschwindigkeit von 418,43 km/h gemessen worden sein.
Somit wäre der nur 995 Kilogramm leichte Sportler über sechs km/h
schneller als der 1183 PS starke Ultimate Aero TT der Firma Shelby

It only looks like a Lincoln-Zephyr. Photographed on the show field at Pebble Beach this year, this instead is the more traditional Lincoln, a 1938 Model K with V-12 power. At least, it started out that way. The original buyer commissioned stylists Holden Koto, Alex Tremulis and Ralph Roberts to work as a team and create its lovely convertible sedan coachwork.

 Today was the Traffic CC car show at the Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario. The buzz has been going for months and Traffic did not dissapoint! The show was great! The weather, the cars, the people and the venue all came through and gave everyone in attendance a great experience. Many thanks to those I talked to today and met for the first time.  This morning I got a late start but I managed to check out the Pachuco CC Car Show in the San Fernando Valley. I was supposed to go to the Duke’s show at the Santa Monica Pier but I did not make it. Here are a few photos from the show.
After the Pachuco car show Stephanie & I met up with Traffic CC at Mark’s house for a pre-show bbq. There was great food and conversations! See everyone tomorrow at the show!
