Damn. Just a few weeks after we reported that Honda had halted developed of the next gen NSX, there’s word that they are scrapping some of their other projects as well. According to an article published on Autoweek.com, Honda is stopping development for the S2000 replacement, the CR-Z sports hybrid, and rear wheel drive luxury [...]

You’d probably be jailed for even suggesting this type of thing today. Two motors? Four wheel drive? Factory freakin’ parts? Yes, yes, and yes. The Hurst Hairy Olds, one of the most infamous exhibition runners in drag racing history contained those three aspects and delighted crowds from coast to coast while showing them off.
The story [...]

I just stumbled across this pic on Flicker of a clean Taiwanese Honda Civic EF and it’s got me thinking about Hondas… I’m a former Honda guy myself, having owned both a new EG Civic Si and a tuned up 2nd Gen CRX back in the day. Times have progressed to the stage where I’m [...]

Most of the talk of hydrogen, these days, seems to revolve around fancy fuel cell vehicles like the Chevy Volt or the Honda FCX Clarity. Mazda, however, has taken a different approach. Since the early 90s it has focused research and development on using it as a combustible in modified rotary engines. DrivingSports.com takes a [...]

Need some automotive comedy? Something we can all unanimously hate on in unison? Look no further than this pink Hummer now for sale on Autotrader.
Whoever built this car managed to simultaneously turn me against two things that I love: carbon fiber and Takashi Murakami.
On the interior of this monstrosity they managed to get what looks [...]

The owner of this vehicle came in complaining of a “shimmy” at high speeds. I guess 60 pounds of wire wrapped around the driveshaft will do that. More pics after the jump!

This weekend is the HIN season finale in Miami Beach. It's also the last car show we will cover on CarDomain for 2008. How did you like our event coverage this year? What can we do to improve it next year?

I hear a lot of noise lately about red light cameras and speed cameras. As a public service, I decided to conduct research and answer the most common question I've heard. Are they constitutional? Are they effective? Are they nothing other than automated revenue generators for the city and towns that install them?
What I found out was, who cares? What most people want to know is how can you avoid them and what can be done about them? Turns out, there are a ton of...

Many of you noticed that John and Jen have not posted recently. CarDomain has been suffering along with everyone else in this crappy economy, and we made some significant staff cutbacks last month. Sadly, John and Jen were part of those cuts.
Times are tough. Advertising dollars have been drying up, and many automotive web sites and magazines have shut down completely. Turbo, Sport Compact and Modified Luxury & Exotic are gone. ForbesAutos is gone. RiceBoyTV...

Hyundai is unveiling their new hybrid technology at the LA Auto Show today. More details from Hyundai after the jump.
Hyundai plans to lead all automotive brands in the U.S. in fuel economy by achieving a fleet average of 35 miles per gallon by 2015, five years ahead of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) deadline, powered by the Hyundai Blue Drive global product strategy.

In order to squeeze the most horsepower possible out of our late model performance cars, it makes sense that we have to turn our eyes to the ECU’s (Engine Control Unit). As it turns out, car manufacturers are able to make the same engine perform much differently for various markets, and in many cases reduce a significant amount of horsepower and torque. Continue reading...

The Genesis Coupe hasn't reached the States yet, but one of Hyundai's RWD sports cars has already died on its native soil. Apparently, it rounded a corner and then proceeded to slam into a concrete post. The results, as you can see, weren't pretty, and the driver and passenger were critically injured. A Korean source has reported that the car was sporting "temporary tags" and given the fact that the airbags didn't deploy, our buddies at Jalopnik have speculated that it...

Before you make any of the modifications recommended on this tutorial, you may want to check your local laws. Because I'm sure there are at least a couple of places where rigging AK-47s to your wipers or chaining grizzly bears to all sides of your vehicle might be frowned upon. But I'm pretty sure that stuff is legal in Texas. Check out six other suggestions over at Divisible By 0.

Ok, so this week's Showroom Showdwon was a bit... different. I really wasn't sure which way it would go, and after tallying up all the votes, it looks like we have a tie. As usual, some of you liked this showdown, and some of you hated it. All we can say is thanks, and sorry.
We're gonna skip the showdown next week while we're at SEMA, but then come back with something truly mind-bending the following week. If you have any suggestions for future showdowns, post...
