Right now Japan is entering it's annual New Year holiday where companies shut down and everyone heads home to spend time with their families, eating traditional foods and that sort of thing. I guess its the opposite from the West where people get together with family for Christmas and then party with their buddies on New Years. Anyways, there won't be much going on here in Japan until Tokyo Auto Salon starts on January 9th....(read more)

I'm going to continue my "Photos of the Year" contribution with some favorites of my own photos I shot this year. As I expected, it was pretty tough to limit my selections to just a handful, and I'm sure there are stories that I'm forgetting completely. Being based in Japan, I've had the opportunity to shoot some pretty remarkable things over the past months and I'm really happy with the way we have showcased the "diversity" of Japanese car culture here on...

I guess you could say the 2008 drifting season is offically over now that D1 Street Legal has wrapped up its season in Japan. Now that things are slowing down for me event-wise, I'll be putting together some posts looking back at the action from this year, but before that I have more photos from last sunday's D1SL Tsukuba finale to post......(read more)

As I was hunting through the archives of the site picking out some of my favorite photos from the year, it really hit me just how much we have covered here on Speedhunters since launch. I'm sure a lot of you will agree with me when I say that the variety is one of the greatest parts about this site. Where else can you see high quality international coverage of sports car racing, grassroots and pro drifting, rods and customs, time attack and everything else?...(read more)

I have a lot of work ahead of me with all my Rev Speed Time Attack photos to sort through, but before that I wanted to post up some photos from last weekend's Yokohama Hot Rod and Custom Car Show. The machine in this photo here was my personal favorite of the entire show. It's a V8-powered gasser built out of a vintage Toyota Stout pick up truck. It has all the typical gasser features like a dropped straight axle in the front and headers protruding through the fenders. This thing should...

I want to take a quick break from my Nismo Festival coverage to post up a some more snapshots of interesting cars I've spotted over the past couple weeks. First off, we have this cool two-tone kei van I saw in the parking lot at Tsukuba Circuit. I didn't get a look at the front, but I'm guessing it has the popular VW bus conversion on it. I think something like this would be the perfect daily driver around here....(read more)
